Top 5 from oh 9
considering its been rather long since my last post (don’t hate, i have a life outside of the internet…. okay no i don’t…). i thought i might go out with a bang on this one. i feel like compiling my top five most listened to songs of 2009.these come directly from my iTunes library of 15,000. counting down we start at number 5:
Song: Hot Chocolate Polar Bear Rug (Dada Life Remix)
Artist: Super Viral Brothers
now this song is near and dear to my heart. you see, i have stripped (yes, stripped and yes, to women…. and some unsuspecting volleyball players) many times to this song. sober. honestly. i do believe this song to have gotten a few of my friends to start liking house music, or as they call it “techno.” i know there are so many damn genres of dance music, but i hate when people call house music techno. it sends shivers down my spine.
continuing on, we come to number 4:
Song: Unbelievable (Original Club Mix)

I feel like this one slowly creeped up on the list without me even knowing it. The song was released february 13th of 2009, and is the oldest track on the list (could be why i lsitened to it so much). a great house tune from a great house artist. i am proud to have it at number 4.

rammstein may be one of my top five bands of all time, so its only fitting that when they release a new album, i am going to listen the shit out of it (does that make sense? i dont know, but i dont care either). i love this song because it sounds alot like the tracks off the album i first heard from them, Sehnsucht. at this time i’d like to plug my cousin aaron who told me about this album. kudos mi amor :)

You had to have seen this one coming. DON’T JUDGE ME!!!! i like it. and i like her. does that make me a bad person? absolutely not. but this isn’t a popularity contest, its about the music. and this song, while commercialized like no other (fuck you walt disney) possesses some catching rhythmic loops that get my hands up, my head noddin’ and my hips movin like AYE!! ( i couldn’t resist) great song billy ray cyrus, uh i mean miley… (and also tyler stevens wacked off to the video… he’s 19…. and a pervert)
Now its time. Now we get to see just what fucked up song i could have listened to more than “Party in the USA.” You’re probably thinking, “hmmmm what could it be? something like akon? no. what about lady gaga? he just put miley friggen cyrus as number 2, the kid apparently has a few problems…” well, YOU’RE FUCKIN WRONG MAN!!! OK. so of the four people who may come across this, three of you have no clue who this is or don’t even have the slightest idea how to pronounce the artist (dead-mouse, or as he put it himself, pronounce it how ever you want, i don’t care)I don’t know what it is about this song, but it just captured my heart. the catchy lyrics, the sick electro synth, the epic break downs and build ups. what ever it may be, deadmau5 knows how to fuck shit up in the progressive house scene. he’s easily one my favorite house DJs because he does what i want to do with my music. i want to make music i can feel. music you can feel just makes dancing to it easy. it gets you to move WITH it, and not TO it. Deadmau5’s music does this. every single one of his songs i love. i haven’t heard a song i don’t like from him, and this one tops the charts without a doubt. Great job Deadmau5, great job! (p.s. im going to be you for halloween next year, but im stuck between two costume designs…. this or this)
